Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers to common questions about aircon maintenance, pricing, and emergency repairs in Malaysia.

In Malaysia's hot and humid tropical climate, residential air conditioners should undergo standard servicing every 3 to 4 months. If you run your unit daily for more than 8 hours, or have pets, we recommend a chemical wash every 6 months to prevent mould accumulation and keep your electricity bills low.

Chemical Wash cleans the evaporator coils, filters, and drainage tray using bio-chemical foam while the unit remains mounted on the wall. Chemical Overhaul involves completely taking the indoor unit off the wall, disassembling every part, and soaking the coil and blower in chemical cleaning solution. Overhauls are necessary for units that leak water or have severe jelly blockages.

The most common cause of indoor water dripping is a clogged drainage pipe caused by accumulated dust, algae slime, and jelly-like bacteria build-up in the drain tray. Our technicians use high-pressure water vacuum flushing to clear the blockage immediately.

No! Air conditioning systems are closed refrigeration loops; gas does not simply evaporate or get consumed like petrol. If gas is low, there is an active leak in the copper pipe or valve joint. At FixKawan, we measure pressure with precision digital gauges and only top up gas if a genuine leak is diagnosed and repaired.
